People's Help

Let me start on the note that "You can't do everything, you need people to help you do other things so you can get better on what you're currently doing".

When I started my business, I was all in all. By this I mean I did virtually everything but yet my result was below average. I felt I could run everything, save the money, and make a big profit, but that was me deceiving myself.

As I grow in my business I discover that "people's help" was all I needed to make my business grow. Now, this is not just in business, but in life generally.

Have you ever wonder why you struggle at almost everything you do? Even with the mindset to make it on your own, is it truly working? A popular proverb "no man is an island" comes to mind at this point. No matter how powerful we may think we are, we need people's help to achieve victory. No matter how intelligent we are, we need people's help to achieve whatever our thoughts are. No man can become a president and lead himself, and so people plays an important role in our lives.

If we understand the place of people in our everyday life, we will value, respect, and care for people because the one you look down on today might be the one to offer you help tomorrow.

True Worshipers

John 4:23-24 NIV  Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” After many years as a worship leader thinking that this verse of the scripture refers mostly the us as worship leaders but it became more clearing to me this morning that everyone is involved in this scripture.  We were having fellowship this morning and a brother in the meeting was leading in prayer and quoted this scripture but took a different approach to it. Out of the many things he said, one thing sticked to my heart, he said "a true worshipper is not a singer, but all who worship God with a pure heart, also in Spirit and in truth. This kept me thinking all through even as I try to shift from my formal thought as a worship leader, but this is the truth I wanted to hear and it have changed my thought ...

7 things worship leaders need to stop doing.

So I came across this video on YouTube by Allen Parr (founder of The Beat) and felt like sharing with worship leaders because it will help and improve us. Seven (7) things worship leaders need to stop doing.  1. Stop making worship about you.  Worship is not about you but about God. Stop drawing attention to yourself. Avoid distraction and lead people to God.  2. Stop singing songs that are theologically inaccurate.  As worship leader, we have the opportunity to lead people into God's presence and also teach them something about God's nature. We can't afford to lead them astray by singing lyrics that are theologically inaccurate. Always know that lyrics are so powerful that people tend to remember them quickly.  3. Stop being predictable.  Be different. Be creative. Just do something different from the normal you.  4. Stop commanding people during worship. Our job as worship leaders is to lead people into God's presence and not to command...

The Process 2

You may need to read my first write-up on " The Process 1 " to enable you to follow through on this.  Now for that 9 years, I served in the church as a Music Director, it was not fun as I had to deal with a lot both from both within and outside my church. I never understood what to do and so there were days I was very angry and even felt like giving up (I did sometimes). I had personal issues that were distracting me from my service, but one thing kept me going and it was the love/passion I have for what I do. See, getting to the top is not easy and will never be not even in the future. The process is what builds you up to that future you desire only that you have to go through the pains which will enable you to teach others after you've overcome. N/B: Every opportunity to serve is part of the process. If you miss it, you've missed out. In summary, there will be obstacles on your way but you don't have to quit because quitters never win and winners nev...
